The Hotel Continental has had a colourful history and is a local landmark that has stood proudly in Sorrento for almost 150 years. The property was acquired by the consortium consisting of The Victor Smorgon Group, Kanat Family and Trenerry Property Group in 2020.
IHG Hotels & Resorts will bring the luxury InterContinental brand to Sorrento in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula as part of the redevelopment of the Hotel Continental. InterContinental Sorrento will occupy the accommodation component, featuring 108 beautifully appointed, spacious guestrooms, many of them with water views.
Under the masterplan, the wellness component will include hydro pools, boutique gym, day spa experience and medi-spa treatment facilities. There will also be state of the art food and beverage offerings including restaurants, bars and a conservatory, operated by ‘The Scott Pickett Group’ and Craig Shearer’s Collective Heads pub group.
